Privacy Policy

Last updated: 15 October 2026 · Applies to all PlugPup apps in ChatGPT (Citation Generator, QR & Barcode Generator, VIN Decoder, Wordle Solver, Sales Tax Calculator).

What we receive

Only the inputs ChatGPT sends when you use a tool: e.g. a DOI, ISBN, URL or title to cite; text, Wi-Fi or contact details to put in a QR code; a VIN; Wordle guesses; a price and US state. We do not receive your name, email, ChatGPT account details or conversation history. There are no PlugPup accounts.

Why we use it

Solely to compute and return the result you asked for.

Who we share it with

• Citation Generator sends the DOI/ISBN/title/URL to Crossref, doi.org, Open Library, or the website you asked to cite, to fetch bibliographic data.
• VIN Decoder sends the VIN and the resulting make/model/year to the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) APIs.
• QR & Barcode Generator, Wordle Solver and Sales Tax Calculator process everything on our server and share nothing.
• Our host, Vercel Inc., processes requests to run the service.

Retention

We do not store tool inputs or results. We keep anonymous usage counts (which tool was called and whether it succeeded — no inputs) and standard request logs kept by our host for up to 30 days.

Your controls

Don't put information you consider sensitive into a tool (for example a Wi-Fi password, if you prefer not to send it). You can disconnect a PlugPup app in ChatGPT settings at any time. Questions or deletion requests: support@plugpup.com.
